The class is for people with some yoga experience, or advanced practitioners who want to learn or improve their inversions and arm balances practice. Have you finally gotten over your fear of getting upside down, but can't figure out how to give up the wall? Or maybe you've mastered your wall work but want to learn some new drills to help you with your control and float. Then this is the workshop for you. In this 2 hour workshop, Emily Stalmack will break down the obstacles to achieve these postures and transitions (mainly our mind, and how to break the “fear factor”). Emily (a former high diver for the University of Louisville, talk about the fear factor) will teach you drills and new techniques to take your inversion practice to the next level. Come prepared with an open mind to try a different approach to balance, set personal goals and take homework back to your mat and your life). $30 presale $40 at the door.
Many runners cite greater flexibility as the number one reason for doing yoga and for good reason. Yoga stretches the muscles that are tight, which in turn increases the range of motion in related joints. Increased flexibility decreases stiffness and reduces nagging aches and pains, resulting in greater ease of movement and increased performance. As your training increases over the season the attention you devote to recovery and staying healthy between races also has to be more intentional. Make a conscious decision to keep yourself healthy this season
Have a killer training schedule? This clinic will help you learn how to incorporate stretching into your routine:
Never done yoga, no problem, this class was designed with you in mind. We're here to help keep you healthy and injury free all season. 3 day Workshop with Yogi J. Miles attend each class or only 1, it's up to you, but we're sure you're not going to want to miss, SUPER HUMAN SCHOOL! Every super-hero must go through the proper training in order to take flight. Focusing on steady progression, solid technique and firm integration of alignment and breath, this workshop will cover those poses which require one to hover above the ground, with the connection being mostly the hands. Shapes such as crow, eight angles and handstand require use of the core, the breath and the use of energetic locks called bandhas. Arm balances have as much to do with overcoming fear and infusing one with confidence as much as advancing the asana practice. With diligence and dedication, the inner Hero is revealed.
