Super Hero School - The Mystical Art of Being Awesome
(arm balances and inversions-2 separate workshops and one open flow)
Every super-hero must go through the proper training in order to take flight. Focusing on steady progression, solid technique and firm integration of alignment and breath, this workshop will cover those poses which require one to hover above the ground, with the connection being mostly the hands. Shapes such as crow, eight angles and handstand require use of the core, the breath and the use of energetic locks called bandhas. Arm balances have as much to do with overcoming fear and infusing one with confidence as much as advancing the asana practice. With diligence and dedication, the inner Hero is revealed.

10/13/17 Friday Night 6pm-7:30pm Fire of Vinyasa
Tapas and Sadhana Friday Night 2 hour class $20
Vinyasa means to move or place with intention. This class aims to help the student build the necessary internal heat (tapas) to help purify and detoxify the system, and clarify the mind. Students will also be introduced to the concept of sadhana, having a personal practice or more specifically, achieving a goal using skillful means. The goal of Yoga is to cleanse the mind and the heart and make the practitioner fit for spiritual life.

Preparing For Take Off! (arm balance focus):
This portion will cover those poses which require recruitment of the breath, engagement of the subtle core, and awareness of the actions of the hands and fingers to hover above the ground. Postures covered will include Bakasana and Parva Bakasana (Crane and Side Crane), Eka Pada Koundinyasana (Flying Split), Astavakrasana (Eight Angles), and well as tips and tricks to help you "float" and "fly" on your yoga mat!!! Open to all levels.

10/15/17 Sunday 12pm-2:30pm $40 Early Bird/$45 day of
This portion will cover those poses in which the head is below the feet, with the connection being the forearms, the shoulders, head. Postures covered will include Sirsasana (headstand), Pincha Mayurasana (forearm stand), and Sarvangasana (shoulderstand). Handstands will be included in the portion as well. There will be a thorough investigation of how to open the shoulders, engage the core and bandhas, and create the proper platform to progressively and safely invert. Open to all levels.
